The Department of Social Work and Mental Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nursing Lecturer/ or Paramedic Science professional with experience in mental health.

The Mental Health Group within the Department of Social Work and Mental Health is seeking to appoint a new staff member to join their successful, friendly and dynamic team. We welcome applicants who are  joining from nursing practice or are qualified paramedics with experience of mental health practice. 

You will join a team with a strong tradition of delivering high quality, innovative mental health nursing programmes as well as a range of mental health postgraduate and CPD courses. Successful candidates will have a proven background in mental health nursing or be a qualified paramedic and hold a Paramedic Science degree with some  experience in mental health alongside academic qualifications at postgraduate level.  

Working within the Department of Mental Health and Social Work you will be part of a team delivering our successful BSc and postgraduate Mental Health Nursing pre-qualifying courses focused on adult mental health, with additional opportunities for teaching on our CPD offer.  

An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. You are therefore required to disclose details of any criminal record. ALL criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings, even if they would otherwise be regarded as spent under this Act must be disclosed, as well as any other information that may have a bearing on your suitability for the post, including pending prosecutions.

The University will apply for a DBS certificate before your appointment is confirmed.
